Account Creation and Access Issues

Question: Are there any parameters when creating a password and/or security answer for my account on the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and Payment for Indigent Defense Services Portal?

Answer:   There are no specific requirements for the password and/or security answer you choose but both are case sensitive.

Question: When I login to the MCLE and Payment for Indigent Defense Services Portal I receive a message that my account is not activated but I already entered all the required information. What is the problem?

Answer:   You have not activated your account. Once you activate your account, you can login to the MCLE and Payment for Indigent Defense Services Portal using your Rhode Island bar number and the password you just created for your account via the "Attorney Login" feature.

If you need assistance on either of these issues, please email
helpdesk@courts.ri.gov.

Question: I tried the "forgot my password" feature but I still cannot access the MCLE and Payment for Indigent Defense Services Portal. What do I do next?

Answer:   Please email helpdesk@courts.ri.gov to advise us of the issue and we can reset your password. Upon resetting your password, you will receive an email with a temporary password. You can then login with your Rhode Island bar number and the temporary password. Once in the MCLE and Payment for Indigent Defense Services Portal, you will be prompted to change your password.

Question: I do not remember my security question. What should I do?

Answer:   Please email us at helpdesk@courts.ri.gov and we can provide the security question to you. If that does not work, we can reset your security question. Once in the MCLE and Payment for Indigent Defense Services Portal, you will be prompted to create a new security question and answer.
